Breast Cancer Campaign's walking event |

STEP ON IT is a new walking challenge. Breast Cancer Campaign is asking the nation to walk a step for each person diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK this May bank holiday (2-4 May 09). There are currently 46,000 people diagnosed every year, which means 46,000 steps and the challenge is to do it in 46 hours! Walking Works conference - 28 January 2009 Why walking works for business
Our one day conference was for anyone needing inspiration, ideas, tools or techniques to encourage walking as part of a workplace travel plan. Delegates were given the opportunity to:
- Hear about the latest updates, resources and innovative ideas in implementing workplace walking initiatives
- Learn how to run an active travel audit in a workplace, and find out what opportunities it can bring about
- Find out about new awareness events such as National Walk to Work Week 2009

VIP Day, Oxford Street - 6 December 2008
The Living Streets team hit Oxford Street armed with pledge cards, a stall and heaters, to make full use of its temporary pedestrianisation! We were asking people to pledge to walk for all or part of their journey to work with a whopping 358 people pledging to do so! We were giving away free mince pies in the process to celebrate the launch of our walking calculator. Despite the cold, it was a successful day all round!
