Talking about walking Print E-mail

talking_about_walking2It'll tone you up, trim you down and help keep your heart healthy. It saves on petrol and bus fares, and is better for the planet. And it'll give you a bottom pert enough to balance a cup of tea on.

No, it's not the latest celebrity exercise craze. We're talking about... walking.

You can do it on the way to work or on the way home – you can even fit it in during a day at the office. Walk to meetings or stride out with colleagues at lunchtime and burn off those mid-morning snacks.

You must have noticed the ever-increasing number of people about town sporting the 'suit and trainers' combo? It seems that everyone is giving walking a go.

Isn't it time you joined them?

Emily, 25

Want to know what's in it for you? Or how to make sure you're doing it right? You'll find everything you need to know about walking right here on the Walking Works website.

And to help get you motivated, why not sign our pledge to join the hundreds of thousands of people who make walking part of their working day?

See how easy it is to fit walking 10,000 steps (the recommended daily target) into your day by watching a video about office worker Kate, who did just that.
